The igogo Academy offers modular, one-year courses in equine assisted therapy leading to qualification as an equine assisted therapist.

Four seminar modules, spread over one year and lasting one week each, provide the framework for the presentation of comprehensive theoretical and practical content relating to horseback riding therapy. The programme also includes intensive equestrian instruction including horse training and care.

The whole course involves:

  • 160-200 education units seminar modules with theoretical and practical instruction
  • 10-15 education units theoretical and practical concluding examinations
  • 150-180 h private study including written assignment
  • 150-180 h training in self-awareness with practical exercises (with clients in the student’s own home surroundings) and case study reports

The dates and frequency of the training courses are set according to demand. Each course is limited to a maximum of 12 participants in order to ensure the best possible learning conditions.

The igogo team of instructors includes a horseback riding therapist, two veterinary surgeons, an equine physiotherapist, a graduate educational scientist, a horse trainer and the director of a stud farm who is also an experienced Iberian riding instructor.

The one-year course costs 4,650.00 euros including comprehensive learning material. The 1½-year course for people without sufficient previous experience for the one-year course costs 4,950.00 euros.
